As summer draws to a close, we’re celebrating our REU student, Griffin Cook, who presented his poster on two-dimensional mixed cation copper based perovskites. Over the course of about eight weeks in the lab, Griffin built hands-on experience with a range of techniques, including spin coating, crystal growth, thin film XRD, and circular dichroism spectroscopy. Great job, Griffin! We can’t wait to see what you do next!

Congratulations to Camryn, Jordan and Liang on their newest paper in JMCA! The work demonstrates that spacer cation electronic structure governs excited-state relaxation pathways in two-dimensional hybrid perovskites, providing new molecular design rules for controlling energy flow and optoelectronic properties.

Congratulations to Jiyeon, Xiaowei, and Liang for their newest work in JMCA. If you are interested in single-component organic solar cells, check out this work. We show that incorporating small amounts of polymer additives can improve charge transport balance and reduce recombination in Y6-based devices, leading to enhanced photovoltaic performance.
